As the sole proprietor, my family knows when trial is upon me. I am home less often, I am irritable, and my head is just not engaged while at home. Trial is consuming, but awesome, just like running my own firm. Almost three years ago I set up shop in Hugo, a wonderful town a bit south of Forest Lake, a bit north of White Bear Lake, a bit east of Centerville, and a bit west of Grant. Why did I do it? A few recent events remind me why.

While at the office around 9 p.m. one night recently a good friend stopped in with a problem. He saw my lights on, rushed to his office to get some papers, and rushed back to my office, hoping to catch me. I was nearly finished for the night, but was sure to make time for him. As we drew near the end of the meeting he gave me a 1 1/2 pound premium steak for my troubles.
A client recently wrote to me about 3 months after I last assisted her. The client wrote to say Thank You for the advice I had given her three months ago, advice which turned out to be good.
I can call the barber for an appointment and 20 minutes later be in the barber's chair. I didn't have to check in or out with anyone and I didn't have to have it approved by anyone.
I create jobs and contribute to the local economy. I won't pretend I'm Target or anything, but I do pay people to work for me, I refer people to Hugo, Forest Lake, and White Bear Lake businesses, and I do donate to local organizations.
