How you trust your lawyer is important

I am working on an arbitration and absorbed in the case and it reminded me of this older post. It is (according to my stats) a fairly popular one and what was true then is still true now.

The client base I have represented over the years has been wildly diverse. Some clients have been sharp as a tack and great assets to me in the course litigation. In the estate planning context, some clients have very specific wishes and very specific guidelines for me to follow when writing their estate plans.

On the flip side, I have been fortunate to represent some clients who are not as sharp, and they more than anyone need help. These folks represent a different challenge, but representing them and helping them achieve something they could not achieve on their own is the most satisfying type of representation.

Regardless of how brilliant you may be, your case is yours, not mine, and I treat it that way. You are always the expert on the facts of your case. My role is to tell the story that you have lived.
