Jobs are jobs, but they aren't life. I have clients who, understandably, get extremely wrapped up and emotionally invested in their cases. I get to that point too, but we have to keep the big picture in mind.
Legal matters are very, very important - make no doubt about it. But in the big picture of things we ALL need to take an occasion to step back and assess life.
In the past 2 weeks, I have had 3 very, very good family friends experience the death of a child or parent. That's the true big picture. Let's fight good, hard legal fights, but not lose sight of what's truly important. We just had the joy of celebrating Easter -- that's the big picture.
I don't know anyone who has taken time to step back, breathe, and assess what is truly important. Doing that helps immensely in handling other important things. I encourage you to take some small amount of time and do just that.
