Writing Proper Offer Agreements With Employees

It all seems so simple: we hire you; you work; we pay you; you get benefits; you get commissions; you're hired at-will.

Particularly from what I hear on the streets of Hugo and Duluth nowadays, employees are fleeting.  No loyalty, think they're owed the world and have no commitment to longevity.   More than ever there is a chance employers will face compensation suits from ex-employees.

Cue the employment agreement. Without getting long winded, employers need these terms:

At-Will
Discretion
No payment if not employed
Amended by employer

These words can save you a lot of money and a lot of headaches.  Attach them generously, like gravy on potatoes at Thanksgiving.  You'll be happy you did.
